Intonation and pronunciation task

Description: In this entry you will hear a fragment from the book “The house on mango street" written by Sandra Cisneros. Also, I’m going to explain the method I used to learn to identify important words, pronounce them correctly, identify schwa sounds and give the text appropriate intonation. Reflection: The fragment of the book I chose had a basic vocabulary. But the pronunciation of the words was an issue for me. My skills in these aspects are deficient. I have practiced my speaking skill, however, I didn’t improve it enough. At the beginning of this activity, some difficulties arose me about my pronunciation; I didn't feel that I pronounced the words well. Therefore, I watched some "papa teacher" videos about this topic. Subsequently, I repeated and imitated his pronunciation. I realized the structure of the intonation, how should I connect the strong words with the low ones. Application of Reading Strategies

Description: In this entry you will find an explication about tools and tips to be able to read texts with unfamiliar words. Reflection: I think one of my best skills in English is reading, because I can easily memorize many words. However, in English there are more words than I can memorize. For this, to help myself when using several tools to understand better, although I don’t know the meaning of these words, it results very healthy for me while doing an exam. When I started to do this exercise, at first I felt a bit confused about the meaning of the words I read. Afterwards I started using some tools to help myself to read and understand the main ideas easily. For me, the most important element is to develop my knowledge in this language by reading and understanding, in other words: reading comprehension.
