Description: In this entry you will hear a fragment
from the book “The house on mango street" written by Sandra Cisneros.
Also, I’m going to explain the method I used to learn to identify important
words, pronounce them correctly, identify schwa sounds and give the text
appropriate intonation.
Reflection:
At the beginning of this activity, some difficulties arose me about my pronunciation; I didn't feel that I pronounced the words well. Therefore, I watched some "papa teacher" videos about this topic. Subsequently, I repeated and imitated his pronunciation. I realized the structure of the intonation, how should I connect the strong words with the low ones.
Furthermore, I have learned that the speaking is easy, but I just have to generate an awareness of studies every day. I now wonder why didn’t I study more skills like that; I wasn't confident about my pronunciation. I have slightly developed my ability to speak. My fluency is better now because these skills are really useful to me in my professional life.
I will now need to practice more after classes. I'm going to search some videos or texts to read aloud. I think I’m going to record myself while speaking so that afterwards I can hear and identify my mistakes.
